This website was launched in the blessing of the fullmoon day 9th of July 2017 by the wish of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Thinle Lhundup – also known as Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche.

The vision of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Thinle Lhundup is:

1) To establish Marpa in his proper place within the Kagyu Lineage, by using the force of history.

2) And to revitalize the transmissions passed from Marpa to his pupil Ngok Chöku Dorje, with a special focus on two of the Ngok mandalas: the nine-deity Hevajra and fifteen-deity Nairatmya mandalas.

This website contains precious information about the Mar-Ngok Hevajra and Nairatmya transmissions. You can find historical information, academic articles, practice resources, etc. Please browse the menu to dive into this treasure of information.

There are two good monthly days and two annual days when one can tune in to the blessing of the Marpa Ngok Hevajra Nairatmya transmission: “The Blessing enables the offsprings to follow in the footsteps of the father!”

The two monthly days focus on the practice and the two annual days focus on the lineage.

Monthly days for the Hevajra and Nairatmya practices:
  • To celebrate Nairatmya, you can use the 8th lunar day after the full moon, which is the 23rd lunar day of every month.
  • To celebrate Hevajra, you can use the 14th lunar day after the full moon, which is the same as protector-day, i.e. the 29th lunar day.
This is stated in the Hevajratantra (Part 1, chapter 7, verses 19-20)
Annual Commemorations of the MarNgok Lineage
  • Common and established: The 15th lunar day of the 1st lunar month, also the Duchen commemorating Buddha Shamyamuni’s miracles, is the commemoration of the Parinirvana of Naropa (966–1040) and of Marpa Lotsawa (1000–1081)
  • NEW: The 3rd lunar day of 7th month is the parinirvana of Ngok Chödor (1023–1190), one of the main disciples of Marpa. This is henceforth the special commemoration day for the MarNgok Tradition. It commemorates the day when Ngoktön flew off to Khecara, and by extension his family lineage until Ngok Jangchub Pal (1360–1446), which was instrumental in the transmission of Marpa’s tradition of Hevajra.
